
Peter Bufano has been working in circuses for 25 years; starting as a clown, and eventually stepping out of the ring and onto the bandstand. His original music and performances as a bandleader, accordionist, and composer span thousands of performances in the United States and abroad.
In 2004 he founded the circus band Cirkestra to create new original circus music. The group performed under the big top as well as in world class venues such as the Kennedy Center For the Arts.
Today his music can be heard in dozens of films and TV shows around the world. ASCAP gave him an award in 2012 for his original score for the PBS circus documentary “Circus Dreams”.
In 2013 Bufano joined a troupe of 40 of the worlds best variety performers in Las Vegas to create “Nocturne” which critics dubbed “Best New Show”.
Bufano is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College.
